Billy joe
I noticed a crackling noise coming from the midrange horn on on of my LaScala's. Does this sound like it could be a bad diapragm, are they easy to change? I do have some soldering skills, so i think i could do it with a little guidence. Thanks. Daddy Dee
Changing the diaphragm is not hard at all. I can't recall if soldering is required or not. One thing, just to confirm it is the driver, swap the K55's and confirm that the crackling follows the driver.
Marvel
Sounds like the diaphragm, but also loosen and tighten all the screws on the terminal block on the crossover and listen again.
colterphoto1
if it's a K55V it's an easy fix, get part from Klipsch.
