HT Rookie
Hi After reading all the post on this site, I am left wondering. Did I make a mistake by rushing into my purchase. I finally decided to upgrade the receiver I bought 7 years ago. I listened to Sony models STRDE 875, 975 and 1075. As well as Pioneer VSX D810 and 850 and Onkyo TXDS595 before deciding on the Yamaha HTR-5460. This receiver has many sound fields, but one of the deciding factors was that it allows me to play music in 5 ch stereo mode. I also have an option for a 6th channel and component switching. I have older KG 3.5 Klipsch speakers for my mains, Yamaha sub, older model Polk RT-8 for my rears. I use my receiver for 50% Music & 50% HT. I am looking to purchase a Klipsch center channel that will compliment my KG 3.5's Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated Sony Wega TV Panasonic DVD Technics CD player and Tape player Panasonic HI-fi VCR Dolby Digitial Sat TV system

lamluc01
HT. I personaly believe that for a given price range there are no bad A/V outhere versus the competition. The 5 channel stereo is a great feature. I have a Denon 3802 and the 5/7 channel stereo was a big factor. It is hard to go back to two channel stereo after. Take the time to learn your A/V. Take the time to test different options. Take the time to balance your speaker (go to Radio Shack and buy a Sound Level Meter). If you do all this I am convinced that you will enjoy your A/V. Luke. mpgwagon
It doesn't get much better than the Yamaha for the price, sound quality and features. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg

MagnumMan
The KLF-C7 is also a good match for the KG series. HT Rookie
Thx all for the help. Sorry it took a while to get back, just been very busy. BTW, I am happy with the way my system sounds. I watched the Musketeer on DVD and the sound was amazing. Even when I turned down the volume almost all the way, it was very crisp.
