Islander
Most speakers stands are made for bookshelf speakers to get them off the floor and close to ear level. I've never seen speaker stands that are meant to be used for rear speakers that are elevated above the listening position. Pity. I could use a pair of tall stands for my Heresy II surround speakers. They're too heavy to wall mount and too big for most stands, even if I could find some that are tall enough. I'm using a tall box for one and may get a second box for the other, or a tall table with a really small footprint that isn't wobbly. Technically, you could use the pro speaker stands by making a flat platform that would mount to the speaker pole, then you could place your Heresy's on top of the platform. Islander
That's a good tip, but those tripod-type stands take up a fair bit of floor space. I already have two lighting stands for my studio strobes and two backdrop stands, all three-legged, and I don't want to give up anymore room like that. I'll probably settle for a tall and skinny table.

Islander
True, but one needs to be located in front of a window, so a stand would be simpler.
