bonz44
Saw these diy cabs on parts-express, wondering how close they are in size to Heresey's, or Heresey Monitors that ive seen in the Pro section. Would they be worth the coin for us that cannot build stuff like Norm Abram. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=245-325&FTR=trapezoid%20birch%20cabinet&CFID=15684166&CFTOKEN=59737446 I'm sure the woofer would fit no problem, just too lazy to take a tape measure to see if the horns would fit ok. Thanks for responding. John

Groomlakearea51
Bonz: Alternatively..... If you can find an old pair of cosmetically challenged Heresy-I's (as in totally a mess) for a cheap price, knock them apart and piece by piece, cut new pieces, including the motor board. While a daunting task to the novice, t's well worth learning how to restore a pair of what would otherwise end up on the scrap heap. You will need to have access to: table saw, router, miter saw, drill, finishing nail gun, "staple gun" and wood glue. That would be an expensive proposition if you are only going to do it one time, so try to find a friend or a neighbor that has the tools and basic skills that will help you. You will also need a 3/4" sheet or cabinet/ furniture grade birch plywood that costs about $50 or so at HD or your local hardware/ lumber store. The first couple attempts should be done with cheap unfinished plywood to make sure you get the hang of the cuts, dimensions, how to use the stapler on the braces, etc. It's alot of fun to learn and can be very rewarding.
