lopezh
Is there a way to get music CD's or even Digial music from my satellite to sound as good as the tracks they put on movies? Would I need a different set up like a 2 channel receiver? Currently when I run 5 channel stereo I lose a lot of the fullness of the songs (mids). When I do dolby digital it isn't as good as if the songs was in a music soundtrack in the actual movie.
wuzzzer
In most cases music in movies is mixed and EQ'd differently than it is on CD and the differences you hear won't be changed by different equipment. You could try different music surround formats that your receiver has such as Neo:6 Music and see if you like how it sounds over 5 channel stereo. JohnA
Movies rarely sound as good as CDs on my system. You might have a setup problem.
Chris A
You might look for a "stereo" mode on your AV receiver or preamp--use that mode when playing 2-channel sources like CDs - not the various DD or other synthesized modes. If your preamp/receiver is synthesizing surround sound, you probably will not be satisfied with the results. Chris
DrWho
Is there a way to get music CD's or even Digial music from my satellite to sound as good as the tracks they put on movies? Are you using the digital audio output on your satellite receiver? (does it even have one?) And are you tuning into HD channels?
