Rivernuggets
I want to try an older Marantz. Is this a good price? http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/ele/1489982083.html

Cal Blacksmith
Thats more than I would pay for it. To me, when someone says it is a "collectors item" that tells me that want top dollar PLUS for something. I don't remember what Marantz that is powering my shop system but I only paid $35 for it at a yard sale. The only negitive about it is that it needs all four feet replaced and the volume pot needed to be cleaned as it would not turn down the volume low enough to not hear it. Either thing was not an issue to me as it is setting on two sections of angle iron to keep air flow through it and it is turned on and off from a remote switch and the volume does not change much at all while in use. Other than that, it is in perfect condition with all lights working, no marks on the face plate, all controls working, every switch and knob as they should be and all lettering in good condition. I have always liked Marantz units and they sound very nice indeed. Good luck in your search. EDIT, OH BTW, I know of a Marantz unit that is in an "antique mall" that has been there for at least a year that I know of, they had a price tag of $150 on it the best I remember. Rivernuggets
Thanks smokarz and Cal. I just need to be patient and wait. Not easy! I can also check some antique malls around here - didn't think of those stores as possibilities. Hopefully I'll find some killer deal (like $35!!!) and can share it with you.
