Tom Adams
Got this from Musician's Friend: http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Auralex-Studiofoam-Designer-Kit?sku=422602&src=3TP0CG&ZYXSEM=0&indiv_id=57433 What cracked me up was the notation that "Due to FAA regulations, this item must be shipped via ground transportation". I guess someone proved that you can assault and take over an aircraft with acoustic foam. sheesh...... Tom
Coytee
Maybe they consider it a fire hazard? Regarding former Congressman Messa, do you think after we have the "Tickle Fights" we can have some foam fights? [^o)]
Groomlakearea51
That is a very, very good deal on the advertised special. The best part is you can get a total of 64 of them in charcoal gray for $120. That's more than enough to do a fair sized room, and you can also use a few to make some bass traps up in the ceiling corners. I'm thinking of tearing off the original ones I got and going for the nice "burgundy" ones!! The purple is a little "loud" for me though LOLOL!!! picky
I found it interesting about the shipping, too. I would think that Auralex would feel compelled to use safety, fire-rated products just as Sonex does. The Sonex 2-1/2" thick melamine foam ceiling tiles I have placed in my HT ceiling has Class I (or A) Commercial Fire Rating. It will not burn, even it you hold a torch on it. Now, I am curious to find out what Auralex's material rating really is. Hmmmm.... -Glenn
