Pete H
http://www.carvinguitars.com/products/single.php?product=TS100 Does anyone have any experience with this particular unit that Carvin makes? Even if this unit puts out a clean 15 to 20 WPC, it would make it one heck of a deal.
russ69
Looks interesting for sure. My only reservation would be that it has a fan and you have 1/4 inch jacks for speaker connections. It's driving the tubes hard to get 50 watts per side, maybe you could get it for a home demo. Thanx, Russ
BLSamuel
It's pro gear so it should be pretty durable. I like that it claims to be made in the USA. The fans should help keep it cool which is good but could be noisy which is not so good. And also those 1/4 jacks russ69 pointed out. Seems pretty affordable for a tube amp. Thanx, Russ I sent their customer service a note to ask if they will refund the purchase price if I don't like the amp. If they agree to that, I'm going to give it a try. artto
Carvin makes entry level "pro" gear ~ mainly for guitar/bass/PA stuff. I think you can do much better for the same price, especially for a few hundred more. Amplifiers and speakers that are made for musical instruments usually have some intended built-in coloration. EDIT: And has already been mentioned - the fan. On most pro gear these fans are on all the time and are often multi-speed, every so often its likely to kick into high. On stage/gigs there's so much other noise around that doesn't matter.

The price is obviously attracted me as I don't want to spend a ton of money on a tube amp at this time, but would like to try one to drive the HF section of a build I'm doing. Can I ask what you would suggest for the $750 range?
