amusingisthedawn
There is a guy selling 2 SVS PC 12 ultras with updated drivers and a samson s1000 amp for about 900 dollars. And there is a guy selling a almost new SVS PC13 ultra with the 750watt bash integrated amp for the same price. How much a difference does using the samson amp over the bash amp really make? I'm being told that the single pc13 ultra will be more substancial than the 2 pc 12 ultras. Can someone help me make a decision?
wuzzzer
FYI I purchased my twin SVS CS-Ultras and Samson amp for $850 including shipping through audiogon a couple years ago. If its a local deal to you I'd offer $750-800. If you can get the PC-13 for $900 I'd do it in a heartbeat.
amusingisthedawn
So the 13 is that much better than huh?

The PC (Powered Cylinder) subs already have amps. What's the Samson amp for?
CECAA850
Have you contacted SVS and asked which setup will give you more output? They know their products better than anyone and will not steer you wrong.
amusingisthedawn
I've decided to go with the pc 13 ultra. It's tighter, more musical, and puts out more than 2 pc 12's. This is according to SVS. All in all, it is their best sub.

[Y] Let us know what you think when you get it. They make great subs.
NOZ
I used to have the PC ultras with the samson S1000 amp. The samson amp was kind of useless. I got a bryston 4B amp to power them. The bryston made them really shine. I'm going to say better than the PB13 ultra.
wuzzzer
That's odd. My Samson pounded the dual Ultras I had and has no problem driving the single Ultra I currently have to well below 20Hz and above at seriously loud output.
NOZ
Sorry Wuzzer, I may have worded that poorly. The Samson did a good job, but the Bryston was absolutly insane with those passive CS Ultras.
