SallySlapCabbage
I'm looking for specifics as to how high, where on wall to mount rear speakers? I bought my husband the RF52 surround package, and while I found specifics for locating the front & center speaker, and can't find specifics on 'location' for the rear speakers. Should they be hear the rear corner of walls - should they be a certain distance from floor? My specifics - 24' long room. 11'-6" wide. 8' high. 120" Screen on 11'-6" wall with 3 rows of theater chairs (each up one platform) from the front wall. Now where do I mount the rear speakers? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sally
jamesV
Welcome to the forum... Congrats to you and your husband on the speaker purchase. Here is the THX web site. If you scroll down you will find the 5.1 surround speaker set up. They list the surround speakers to be placed from 90 to 110 deg. to each side and 2 feet or higher above the listener. BigStewMan
i think james gave you good advice. i was just going to simplify it and say somewhere behind you and high enough off the ground so you don't trip over them. by the way, welcome aboard, and not sure what your screen name means; but, it's cool. mbr311
Don't mean to threadjack but I have the same question and I checked the THX website and the position I'm going to put my surround is perfect, the question I have is wehether 6 feet off the ground is too high. If I go lower its gonna be in the way when you walk by the couch that sits near the dining room so I don't have a lot of options. Thanks
