I love listening to those things and would like to have a pair of my own to show off to people lol. Randy Bey Posted March 22, 2002 Share Posted March 22, 2002 I am old enough to remember when large Advents were the way to go, and if you were really well off, you'd stack 'em. Anyway, I have a pair of Advents, not the large ones, not the small ones, "just right, right in the middle" as Rebecca Pidgeon would say. Nonetheless they are not so good, speaker-wise. No bottom end, no top-end. Their mid is good, and I think they have a good soundstage, but I've heard of people yanking out their drivers and using the box (a monkey-coffin, they call it) with a full-range speaker from Rat Shack or Pioneer with good results. Again, they probably wouldn't have lows or highs, but the continuity of a single crossoverless driver is hard to beat. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
