Hamilton
I have found a good deal for both a set of RF-3's (which need need 2 new cones & some grille pegs) and some Fortes which are more expensive but are in pristine condition. I don't need both of these and obviously a bit different age/technology wise... Which would be a better choice for my front main speakers? wuzzzer
Fortes, no contest.
Ironsave
I second the vote for Fortes; assuming you have sufficient space.
Bill H.
Fortes. Even though they are older- it is eaiser to find and replace parts. They have a fuller sound. RF3 Grills are hard to find, and as you have seen , break easily...............
carbon summit
I don't need both of these Aw... I remeber when I used to say that. []
Hamilton
Even on a DLP TV? I have a 65" Mitsubishi so that would be a problem considering how much space the TV takes... My goal is RF-7's when I find some for a good deal!
wuzzzer
The only TV that magnets in speakers will affect are CRT TVs. I have my Fortes sitting about 6" from the side of my Mitsubishi DLP. Just as an FYI...I had RF-7s and replaced them with Forte IIs...
Rivernuggets
Fortes. I owned RF-3s for eight years, then got curious and started buying Klipsch left and right. After getting Forte IIs in my house, I sold the RF-3s. Don't get me wrong, the 3s are a good speaker. It's just that 3 way of the Forte trumps them.
