sundeepambati
I just bought some Klipsch C-2 center channel and F-3 floor standing speakers and I am unsure what wattage I need out of my receiver. I would appreciate any recommendations on specific receivers as well. I am trying to balance getting something that will optimally utilize these speakers with staying on a budget. I can probably go up to $500 but something around $300-$400 would be ideal. Thanks!

wuzzzer
Don't worry about watts. How watts are measured varies from manufacturer to manufacturer anyway so its impossible to make a comparision that way. Just find one that is from a well-known name brand that has all the features you're looking for in the price range you're looking for as well. Denon, Onkyo, Harman/Kardon, Yamaha, Pioneer Elite, Marantz are brands many Klipsch users enjoy.
elitedemo
depends if you want hdmi support or just optical marantz sr19 packs some great power http://cgi.ebay.com/MARANTZ-SR19-U1B-AV-HOME-THEATER-AMPLIFIER-RECEIVER-THX-/280504744037?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Receivers_Tuners&hash=item414f62b865 marantz 7500 is newer yet more options http://cgi.ebay.com/MARANTZ-AV-SURROUND-RECEIVER-SR7500-/260602979524?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item3cad25e4c4 marantz 5003 supports hdmi plus more features http://cgi.ebay.com/Marantz-SR-5003-7-1-SR5003-Receiver-New-Store-Demo-/250632180324?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Receivers_Tuners&hash=item3a5ad79264 these are all great options in your budget area ive had yamahas and harmon kardons and they dont compare to marantz imo i went from a 7400 to the 5004 but dont use the receivers power on the 5004 so i cant comment on the difference but the 7400 had a good punch nothing like monoblocks though the newer units have a ton of features, i would recommend spending the most you can to satisfy the long run or you might end up unhappy with a "cheaper" decision also known as upgradeitis also check a craigslist search for some receivers usually can find cheaper than ebay
jason str
If you don't mind a refurbished unit check this out. http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/MARSR4002/Marantz/Sr4002-Receiver-80w-X-7ch-Hdmi-Home-Theater-Surround/1.html

sundeepambati
Hi guys I really appreciate the feedback. My head is starting to spin looking at all the receiver choices. I believe I have narrowed down my choices to two. I read some good reviews from the link Jason str sent out which was the Marantz Sr4002 I am also looking at the Onkyo Tx-sr607. Both of these units are the same price $300. 1. Marantz Sr4002: I read some reviews stating there was a problem with this unit making popping sounds! Has anyone else heard this complaint? I am also concerned that there are only 3 HDMI inputs. 2. Onkyo Tx-sr607: This unit also has some good reviews and has 5 HDMI inputs. I heard the video upconversion is not very good but I am not really even sure what that means lol and poor analog conversion. http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/ONKTXSR607BLK/Onkyo/TX-SR607-7.2-Channel-Home-Theater-Receiver/1.html Since I have received so much good feedback from this form I was hoping I could get your opinion on which of these I should choose. Thanks!
