Ironsave
Hello all, My speakers are K1001k klipsch 10" drivers from KG 5.2s. I have the new surround ready to install, but did not come with glue as advertised. My question is which glue to use; these are butyl rubber to the basket and butyl rubber to the polypropelyne woofer. They look like an almost perfect fit; except I have no glue. I have searched here and read of weldbond or silicone. I have my doubts about silicone holding to polypropelyne. Will weldbond work? Other ideas? JL Sargent
I've heard of people using Elmer's wood glue?
Rivernuggets
I have used this from Parts Express in doing similar rubber surround replacements.
Ironsave
Guys, Thanks for the responses..... They shipped the glue out to replace what was missing in my order. It arrived Saturday..... The verdict? It was the same smell and consistancy as ELMERS GLUE. And.... It works! I could not believe it. The nicest part is; where you dribble extra; etc..... A little rubbing alcohol removes it. They cam out nicely. I am sorry; no pics to show; but digital camera dead....... Thanks.
