PA speakers in my kitchen ....

I had a pleasant surprise and this might be an option for some other folks.

Circumstances lead to a great deal on a pair of KP-3002C cabinets.
These are two-ways with a K-48 on the bottom, same as in a Chorus but
with huge ports rather than a passive radiator. The HF is handled by
one of the early Klipsch versions of tractrix horns (in the days
before the "modified tractrix" constant directivity horns were
developed). I believe this is the same configuration as a KP 302, but
in a trapazoid cabinet covered with carpet that is a magnet for who-
knows-what.

I'll tell you this, for PA speakers they sound pretty darn good. In
fact, they sound good enough to use for home stereo.

Enjoying my craigslist-find,
-Tom

You mean you didn't have to pad them down some? L-Pad on tweeter and mid?

The cabinets are a bit sensitive to placement. If you have them on the floor and near a wall (or better yet a corner) the balance seems pretty good. With some material, the vocals do seem a bit strong. I think there is some real potential here.
