JohnA
My ACT-3 with Stage 1 upgrqade was killed by a lightning strike nearby. There are no longer parts to fix it. Please recommend an equal replacement. Since my mains are la Scalas, the S/N ratio must be high and It must sound as sweet as the Stage 1 did. I don't know if this one has the Stage 1 upgrade but the price looks sweet. http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?homeproc&1318712941&/Acurus-Act-3-dd-dts-home-theat Acurus Act-3 dd dts home theater surround processor preamplifie Asking $189.00 New Retail $1999.00 Condition 8/10 Days/Views 7 / 282 Ship cost Plus shipping Ship from 21 lbs from 80907 Ship to USA only Included Box, Manual, Remote About Seller Rdietzel (864) (send email) (view feedback) (other items) Pay Terms Money Order, Personal Check, PayPal Pictures act3f act3r Description (Acurus Act-3 dd dts home theater) Acurus ACT-3 surround processor preamplifier perfect working order, good cosmetics, email for larger pics, check or money order preferred, paypal accepted but adds the 3%, (i accept paypal but prefer to avoid it whenever possible) bluebook values shown below:Acurus ACT-3 : Used PricesNew $1999.00 $1260.00 High$450.00 LastUsed $440.00 Apr 02 last 60 of 118 recorded sales Aug 10 Acurus ACT-3 released 1998, DD, DTS Bill I sent you a PM. MikeFord
How killed was it, what happened? I live on a hill, get fairly close lightening strikes, but fortunately all of our electrical is underground, so never had any issues.
JohnA
The face is dark and it will not respond to commands. I sent it off to the repair site recommended by Indy Audio Labs and was told it was unrepairable. No parts. It's a boat anchor. My son said lightning struck near the house, yards away, maybe a tree on our property.
