willland Posted February 8, 2012 Share Posted February 8, 2012 Jazzyj, Welcome to the forum. Nice score with the Forte II's. Are the model numbers and serial numbers intact? If they say OL that means oak with a lacquer finish. If they say OO that means oak oil. WL = Walnut lacquer, WO = Walnut oil, etc. If an oil finish, get some Fornby's Lemon oil or a similar brand and just lightly oil them with a dry cloth to bring them back to life. Groomlakearea51 Posted February 9, 2012 Share Posted February 9, 2012 Clean them up with mineral spirits and let dry, the look at the surface and if all "sheen" is flat then they are ready to oil. If not, do it again, etc. Oil choice is like opinions, everyone's got one [].... Me?
