ShapeShifter
Recently saw some late 80's Klipschorns and they had the Birch Designator. Could these have really been Special Ordered in Birch Wood or just MDF's with the Birch Designator? If they are truly Birch Cabinets, then their resale value would be higher than MDF's? Any insight appreciated. Wes ------------------ KLIPSCH IS MUSICf> My Systems f>s>c>
HDBRbuilder
Birch would be birch plywood...still less expensive by a little than walnut or oak veneered MDF. Either way, neither birch plywood nor MDF are lumbercore. I doubt the birch will ever command the price of veneered MDF on the used market, even though the birch plywood will outlast the MDF!! ------------------ If you want to send a private message, or have already done so, be aware I have not as yet been able to retrieve them. Send e-maill instead, please...just note Klipsch forum in the heading so it doesn't get deleted. ShapeShifter
Thanks that really helps!! The owner was not sure of cabinets wood, nor was I. They did have a Walnut Veneer Finish. ------------------ KLIPSCH IS MUSICf> My Systems f>s>c>
