Mighty Favog
I bought an Oppo a couple weeks ago in my second system. since then I found that Nuforce has an upgrade board for the audio output. In fact, they have two. The first level runs $400. Then there is the Extreme board that runs (gulp) $900. Both can be user installed with only a Philips screwdriver. So I'm looking to see if anyone has done this and was either level worth it. Both boards are on Amazon with only one review. But with that one review, I can see his point(s). Thaddeus Smith
no sarcasm - why not return it and get the bdp-95? It has upgraded internals on the analog side with the best DAC available and is otherwise the same as the bdp-93 in functionality. It's $500 more than the bdp-93 and then you don't have to mess with anything internally.
Mighty Favog
I don't mind doing the work myself. Plus, I can only get so much money past the wife at one time before she notices.
