garyrc
...take a look at Robert Greene's listening room of Absolute Sound...These guys know what they're doing, right? Greene's Main Listening Room Well, that's interesting...here is a 1961 paper by PWK (PDF enclosed) that would probably be of interest ref. the speakers on stands. He's violating cardinal point #5, isn't he?Chris Yes ... and he has a lot of company, what with all the speaker stands for sale. As to opinion pieces, reviewers of equipment AND recordings generally seem to have too low a signal to noise ratio.

If they're not deaf, you have to admit they certainly have bad taste in room decor. Hey Kal, where's the peanuts? Oh wait, I think I see some on the floor. http://gatefans.net/forums/images/icons/icon_rotflmao.gif FWIW, there are peanuts because this is not my main listening room. It was a small home theater room in my weekend house. Unfortunately, it is a small and nearly square room but, with the addition of heavy duty bass traps and room treatment, it is quite tolerable. (Yeah, I know this is a dead thread but I just stumbled on it.) Edited March 9, 2022 by Kal Rubinson
