chisoxpurdue
My Father has now completed his Main System. He is happy and so am I. He had built "vertical" Heresys to lay on their sides as surrounds for his 13x31 space. The Fronts are on the short wall. Cornwalls are on the rear wall by the pool table. Normal Heresy, high upside down as a center. The Fronts are where it gets interesting. He built additional Base cabinets for La Scalas. Now he has two base cabinets in addition to the La Scala mains in front. They are fed the same FL and FR signal. The Normal .2 subs are behind his "sweet spot" but in front of my "sweet spot" They are 24" woofers pulled out of the old Chicago Stadium. Well he loves it and I think it sounds great. Fronts: La Scalas on Carver M1.5t Front Subs: La Scala Base Sections on Carver M1.5t Center: Heresy on Carver A-753x Surrounds: Heresy "Verticals" on Carver A-753x Rears: Cornscalas on Carver M1.5t 2 Subs (7.2):24" woofers on Carver A-760x Oppo 83 into Inegra DTC 9.8. Or Kenwood KD-77F turntable, or Asus CM 6730 computer He has two furmans, one for the amps and one for everything else. Maybe not exactly how everyone else would set it up, but it sounds good. He is happy, and I think it sounds great. When he is happy, everyone stays happy (great cook and great guy). Now I have more to have my systems live up to. CECAA850
Gotta show us some pics of those 24" woofs. How did he figure box size? Any idea how low they'll go?
chisoxpurdue
Good questions. I will get pics next time I am back Home. I am guessing box size was determined by "experience". He was in car audio for the longest time. His La Scalas actually came out of a Car and so did the 24" woofers (different cars I think). I will get more of the story at some point. What would be the cheapest and easiest way to figure out how low they go?
