border411
Just like the title states...what is the difference? Is it worth the price premium?
derrickdj1
Welcome to the forum. The Icon W line has a furniture grade finish, flower style horn and different material is used for the bass drivers. The reference line is one of Klipsch most popular lines and has a bigger variety of speakers. Both are excellent speakers. What are you looking to do? How will the speakers be used, 2 channel, HT, Large room, Small room? The answer to some of these type of question will give you a direction to pursue. border411
Going to be a 5.1 system. Front mains will be on bookscases that are 18" deep, and the center will be on a mantel over the fireplace but under the TV. The rears will be up in the rear corners of the room...so a typical traditional 5.1 system. The bookcases are cherry, and looks almost like the finish of the icon w line. Room is 15x15, i have a diagram for a thread I started in the HT forum regarding surround speaker locations and type.
Scrappydue
Neither wood finishes will match cherry at all. I would go with the reference line if you have cherry wood. Get black mother go with everything easy to plan around.
altpensacola
Even the RC41 is almost 9 inches deep, you are going to need a huge mantel. and my experiance is for 5.1 you want to mount sides, not rear.
