Scrappydue
i found this fun video from the last get together i attended at one of the avs guys i am friends with. i forget the dimensions of his room. its pretty big and has 8 of the si subs that i have. but this is just a fun clip to see what the subs can do to a ceiling mounted projector that is about 17 feet from the screen. it's pretty impressive. holtrp
That is sweet! You might have told me, but what sort of SPL are those things hitting?
Scrappydue
Ah I couldn't tell you man. I know mine don't even try at reference. You can look up what a single is capable of on data bass. Once you start factoring in multiples and corner loading and what not it's up there for sure. psg
He needs a better mount!
Scrappydue
Lol you think there is a mount out there that could stop 8 18" from shaking a ceiling?

You have not got an spl meter out yet Scrappydue? It hard not to test and measure a few things. I bet your 4 SI subs sound awesome.

psg
Lol you think there is a mount out there that could stop 8 18" from shaking a ceiling? Dunno, but a weak one might do that with an RW-12D! My projector is pretty much bolted directly into the joists (see pics kin signature) and nothing ever came out of the THT to make it visibly vibrate like that. Scrappydue
I would love to see a rw-12d shake something in a room that size! Yeah I would imagine it would take much more to shake your floor joists. You have a drop ceiling if I remember right though. He had an already finished basement. So two studs with a board between them. Mounted to that If I remember correctly. Now like I said though. Reference volumes don't do this. We were prolly 10db above reference with the subs 10db hot. To the point where a couple more demos and we were blowing breakers in the house. Lol the Avs guys get quite crazy on demo nights.
psg
Gotcha, way above my league! My projector is bolted upside-down onto a 1/2" birch plywood, which is bolted into 2x4" secured to the joist: Edited December 15, 2013 by psg
Scrappydue
I'll be excited to get settled in somewhere. I'm ready for mine to be ceiling mounted as I hate having it on a shelf right behind my couch. Every time someone sits down my couch scoots back and hits it. Have to pull up the projector grid to re align it.
psg
Yeah, sure is nice to push the on button and have it come on exactly right.

Rowan611
I thought so. Well at least I have an idea of what I'm in for. Gotta tell ya, I'm stocked to listen to yours and his setups.
Scrappydue
Mine will be so underwhelming if he gives you a crazy demo. If he stays flat on the subs (he never does) and stays reference or below. Lol but hell prolly show you 5 above with the subs 10 hot like he normally does
