jcmusic
If you can use a 2wpc amp the Jeff Korneff 45 type is stellar with big horns....
Marvel
It might be harder to find across the pond, but I have a pair of Welborne Labs Moondog 2A3 amps that are simply wonderful. Well under 2K here, but not so sure about Europe. Bruce
captmobley
I have a pair of Sinewave 45 tube monoblocks which bumped my Welborne Moondogs 2A3 out of first place with my Klipschorns. They are tube rectified, built in bias meters, hum pots, very professionally built by a custom Canadian amp builder. It comes with Electro-Harmonix 6c45pi drivers, Mullard 5V4G rectifiers, and NOS Tung Sol 45 output tubes. They sounded the best I had heard in my system until I found a pair of Welborne DRD 45's that only are incrementally better; probably because they came with a pair of Emission Labs ($800.00 a pair) tubes. I'm keeping the Welbornes because I have 2 other pair of Welborne amps. If you are interested in them, pm me and we can talk further. Significantly under 2K.
