HIII kit diaphragm swap with Forte II, ok?

Awhile back I upped an old pair of hii's to hiii's with the klipsch kit. I've recently bought a set of forte ii's. I've read the popular mod's and am a big fan of alk's xo's and plan to put alk's forte xo's in my set.

Question, once I install the alk forte xo's, can I simply swap my hiii and fii tweeter and squawker diaphragms?

The goal is to maximize the fortes, while the heresies do bedroom duty, for the least $.

Thanks,

Gregg

Great, thanks. I thought that's how I had read the other posts.

One follow-up please, I figured it was ok to put the newer Ti dia's into the Forte II, what I'm most concerned with is putting the old Forte polymer and phenolic dia's into the Heresy III drivers. Will those old polymer and phenolic dia's be ok in the larger magnets and work within the scope of the Heresy III xo?

Thank you,

Gregg

I ordered Al's forte ii xo's yesterday, can't wait.

I tend to over do things for no reason, as such, am interested in anyone's thoughts on Bob Crites' forte ii woofer. is it a sonic upgrade over the oem woofer or more so a compatible/suitable replacement driver if the oem driver were to fail in some manner?

thoughts?

I'm buying then, so you'd think I know. But, I don't. I think they roll off just short of 7khz. I think they are 650hz/7000hz xo's.

I agree, I fully expect to enjoy them. I've got some alk eskhorn xo's that are spectacular.

ok, i'd like to revisit this. i'm asking before I open the cabinets which is either prudent or lazy. take your pick.

I want the best driver sets out of this group of four speaker pairs. again I haven't opened them and don't know bolt patterns. the question is primarily xo based I think.

i've got 1 pr stock forte, 1 pr stock forte 2, 2 pr heresy 2's upped with the heresy 3 kits. i've ordered 1 pr alk forte 1/2 specific xo for the forte 2. prob get another set for the fortes, also.

can I, put the k-107-ti's with the k-53-ti's in the forte sets (forte 2 I would swap squawker horns if bolt pattern same, else swap diaphragms) with the respective woofers run by the alk xos? this would leave k-75-k's (one set phenolic and one set polymer) plus k-53-k's (both phenolic) with the k-28-e's run by the heresy 3 850hz/5000hz xo.

probably an exercise in futility, but if the heresy 3 xo can work with that driver set and the alk forte 1/2 xo can work with that driver set, on paper it would seem the highest and best use of each magnet/diaphragm/horn combo. lastly, the two forte sets are not played together in the same system. the four heresy are played together. for what that's worth.

thoughts?
