muel
SACD's can be ripped with old versions of the PS3. It is a lot of effort to do yourself unless you just enjoy it... might be better to find someone who will do it for you. Here is a lot of info on the subject: http://www.computeraudiophile.com/f11-software/sacd-ripping-using-your-ps3-part-2-a-7495/
wstrickland1
If it's too much of a hassle it would never get done. Best bet is to just use the disc/player for the 50 or so I have...
muel
Here is another way to go... http://www.goldeneardigital.com/digitizing-sacds.html He will create .DSF files from your SACD. You have to have a player that can play these (convert on the fly) such as Jriver, Foobar, Audirvana or you can convert them to PCM (FLAC, WAV, AIFF...). Ari at Golden Ear Digital can tell you more. I'm not as familiar with your choices with the Apple Mini. Others might jump in here. Other comments here: http://www.computeraudiophile.com/f10-music-servers/golden-ear-digital-music-library-services-19365/ Perhaps you could get a volume discount? wstrickland1
I can live with using a disc and player here and there. I guess if I had hundreds/thousands of them it would be different. I will say that I'm really liking having everything in one place and easily accessible...
justinsweber
you're using an external CD drive correct? I ripped 800 albums and killed my external... Id hate it if I did that to the internal drive. Make sure you've checked the keep iTunes organized button :-). When you're done you'll have the kind of archive you've assays wanted.. bit for bit correct.
