NOZ
Here it is at last, still not completed, carpet and stuff still to come. A few members wanted to see pics of the LP350 so I have started this website for everyone to see. I posted it on HT as well, but this is the proper place to post it...so here it is, just click the link at the bottom. ------------------ NOZ SYSTEM Fronts: Klipsch RF-7's Center: Klipsch RC-7 Rears: Klipsch RS-7's Projector: Infocus LP350 Screen: Draper Premier 96" x 72" TV: Toshiba 37" DVD: Toshiba SD 3107 Receiver: Harman Kardon AVR 7000 CD: Sony CDP CX250 EQ: Harmon Kardon EQ-8 Sub: Velodyne V-1012-B Spare/Back-Up: La Scalas http://www.geocities.com/seanshometheatre/
m00n
Noz, I noticed that when your screen is down, it's in front of your speakers. I was wondering how much that affects the sound. Seems like it would block a lot. Is that screen white or does it have a gray tint to it. Anyway, nice setup Noz. ------------------ m00nsCinema to be the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f>
m00n
Oh and Noz. You can feel the sound. It's called Transducers However in your case, it looks like your on a tile floor, is that on top of a concrete slab? If so, tranducers will do you no good. Thats my problem out where my home theater is going. It's on a concrete slab, however, I will be building a section of the room that will have a 2ft floor about the slab for no other reason that to have some *** shaking going on. ------------------ m00nsCinema to be the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f> This message has been edited by m00n on 07-28-2002 at 11:41 AM
NOZ
mOOn, It's wooden floor boards, you can't really tell in the pics, once the carpet goes in it will sound alot better.(a week or so). I don't have the RF's hooked up right now, just enjoying my last few days with the La Scalas. The guy is coming to pick them up this week. When they are gone I'll move the RF's out to the corners where they belong, and dual SVS ultras will be where the RF's are now...to get some very serious *** shaking. ------------------ NOZ SYSTEM Fronts: Klipsch RF-7's Center: Klipsch RC-7 Rears: Klipsch RS-7's Projector: Infocus LP350 Screen: Draper Premier 96" x 72" TV: Toshiba 37" DVD: Toshiba SD 3107 Receiver: Harman Kardon AVR 7000 CD: Sony CDP CX250 EQ: Harmon Kardon EQ-8 Sub: Velodyne V-1012-B Spare/Back-Up: La Scalas http://www.geocities.com/seanshometheatre/

Tom Adams
Very nice NOZ. If you don't mind a few questions... 1. What is the size of your room (LxWxH)? 2. Is it the photos or have you painted the walls a dark color (black?)? 3. Will you be placing the RC7 behind the screen? Thanks! Tom Adams
Mike Lindsey said: "Tom, Where the heck have you been?" Well golly gosh Mike <blush>...how nice of you to notice my absence. I've been in lurk mode for many months visiting the board from time to time. To be perfectly frank, there's a certain poster here that I got tired of, so I kinda swore off the list for a period. And that's all I'll say about that publicly. However... I've got a new project looming on the horizon that involves my Heritage Cornwalls & Heresy's and a dedicated HT room of the 15'x25' or so size. Will probably use my Mitsu 46" widescreen at first, but would like to eventually go dropscreen/projector route like NOZ has done. I'd also like to use a screen that is acoustically transparent like in movie theaters so I can locate the center channel directly behind the screen. <sigh>...dreams, dreams... NOZ
Tom, Thanks for the compliment. No the screen is not transparent, wish it was, but I couldn't find a good high quality one that was remote power up & down. I wanted it to be tensioned and I found that this draper was the best for quality and price. (wasn't cheep though $2500 Canadian), maybe I should have gone the paper towel, taped to the wall trick. I painted the walls a burgandy wine colour, it makes the room a little dark, even under full light. Oh well, as long as it looks good while the movie is playing. The RF-7's will be moved to the outer edge of the screen, once the dual svs ultras get here. cheers Sean ------------------ NOZ SYSTEM Fronts: Klipsch RF-7's Center: Klipsch RC-7 Rears: Klipsch RS-7's Projector: Infocus LP350 Screen: Draper Premier 96" x 72" TV: Toshiba 37" DVD: Toshiba SD 3107 Receiver: Harman Kardon AVR 7000 CD: Sony CDP CX250 EQ: Harmon Kardon EQ-8 Sub: Velodyne V-1012-B Spare/Back-Up: La Scalas http://www.geocities.com/seanshometheatre/
NOZ
Sorry Tom, The RC is going to stay on the floor, once the carpet goes down, I'll fluff it up some how. Klipsh only suplies risers for the back of the RC-7 so you have to customize something to make it angle upwards. The room is 20' long by 16' wide. ------------------ NOZ SYSTEM Fronts: Klipsch RF-7's Center: Klipsch RC-7 Rears: Klipsch RS-7's Projector: Infocus LP350 Screen: Draper Premier 96" x 72" TV: Toshiba 37" DVD: Toshiba SD 3107 Receiver: Harman Kardon AVR 7000 CD: Sony CDP CX250 EQ: Harmon Kardon EQ-8 Sub: Velodyne V-1012-B Spare/Back-Up: La Scalas http://www.geocities.com/seanshometheatre/

NOZ
Thanks Wes, I wish they could stay too. I will miss them. I've just plain spent too much money on this thing, not that it isn't worth it. hehehe! I know the ultras will be a good trade off though. edwardre
NOZ.....great setup. I really like the roll up projector and wish I could afford to do the same thing. What camera did you use to take the screen capture pics? Seems like everytime I try to get a decent image, it never quite comes out right. Either too fuzzy, like double exposed or 'washed out'. ------------------ Ed
NOZ
Thanks Ed, The camera is actually a cheepo one I got from Future shop, HP photosmart 318, nabbed it for around $239 Canadian. The SVS will be here Wednesday by UPS, can't wait, I've got Thursday off to go mental trying different set-ups. Yeaaa baby.
