oldenough
An aquaintance of mine is selling his Pioneer Elite vsx-95 this was apparently the companies first "Elite" receiver circa 1991. I can find precious little about it on-line, and nothing regarding specs. I posted here as it is primarily a stereo receiver, and I will only be using it as a two channel unit. Anyone ever had any experience with it?

billybob
May give some inklings of 2 channel performance but nothing specific yet. Here are 2 discussions w/photos of interior. First compares the vsx-9900s(vsx-95 Elite Variant): http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/your-dreamed-stereo-receiver.265330/ And this rap speaks to a comparison of insides with the vsx-D1S: http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/anyone-compared-regular-pioneer-sound-to-elites.262769/ Some pretty good history. Found those 2 links in images... Edited September 19, 2014 by billybob
oldenough
Yeah, I came across those too, but that's about all you can find on the inter-web. Well for $200 I might just get it from him, it sure is a nice looking bit of kit.
billybob
The way they were talking up the unit by comparison to the 95, it may just be the thing. $200 would sound good to me. Pioneer as a stereo cpmpany should have provisions/pass, would like to think about the brand. Enjoy Edited September 19, 2014 by billybob
