Lesson learned...."Audio" magazines....

Have you ever read a bad review about a product in any of those magazines?? (sans anything from Bose if they'll even review it)

I remember when I was 19 and in college.  I would read Stereo Review in the library to pass the time.  We didn't have these here internets back in them days. 

 

I remember thinking that they never said anythigng bad about anything that they reviewed, never.

They also never told you what a piece of equipment actually sounded like. Young and green hobbyists (I won't denegrate them with the "audiophile" term) would be led to believe that all amplifiers working within their power band will sound the same.
