kenratboy
Here is an e-mail conversation I had with: http://www.acousticsounddesign.com About the warranty of the Klipsch gear they sell for pennies: ------------------------------------------------------- ME: Hello, I love the fact your prices are low, but I would have to assume you are an unauthorized dealer and cannot give my the standard (NOT AN ADDITION WARRANTY SOLD BY YOU) Klipsch factory warranty. Is this true? I don't know how the system works, but can you obtain and sell Klispch products with the factory warranty? Thanks! Kenneth Reno, NV THEM: Greetings, The problem is the manufacturers DO NOT tell the consumer that "authorized" dealers on line are practically non-existent. Therefore, you search and get lied to. We have one of the best rated warranties on the web- If the following does not convince you, purchase an extended warranty from http://www.vacservice.com/index2.html-the oldest and most reliable warranty service company in America. They have 52000 service centers in North America, and you will still save $$$$ from not buying at your local home theater store. READ ON: Everything we sell is brand new in the box. It has all the manufacturer warranties. No web site is authorized to sell home theater products. This is a scare tactic many manufacturers use so customers will pay full retail for their products. If the product becomes defective in the first 30 days you can ship it back to us for replacement. After the 30 day period you can use the manufacturer warranty. If your product becomes defective and a local service center refuses to honor the warranty (this has never happened) you can send it back to us and we will get it repaired or replaced by the authorized dealer we purchased it from. When you want to sell electronics in a store, you MUST be authorized by the manufacturers (and if its not the "law" then at least its impractical not to be a licensed dealer). When you are "licensed" that means you must abide by the manufacturers rules. One of the main rules is that you can never go below "x%" of what it cost to acquire the product. Because acousticsounddesign is not a licensed dealer, they do not have to abide by these rules. The only negative is that the manufacturer may not honor the warranty when you buy from an unlicensed dealer. HOWEVER, acousticsounddesign DOES HONOR the warranty. You can learn more here: http://www.acousticsounddesign.com/index.cfm?Fuseaction=po&p=r If you have any questions about the veracity of the warranty, the products, the customer service, basically anything, just visit any of the following forums. There are a ton of comments by people who have bought from Acoustic. http://www.excelsis.com/vote/av/mo/Acoust/ http://cgi2.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=info@acoustics ounddesign.com http://www.audiosurvey.com/cgi-local/mailorder.pl?action=findcomm&name=acous ticsoundde&start=0 And finally, Acoustic is a member of the Las Vegas Better Business Bureau: http://www.vegasbbb.org/report.html?compid=57355 and they are certified by BizRate: http://www.bizrate.com/ratings_guide/report.xpml?mid=25353 Most of the above sites are good references as well if you have questions about particular products. Sorry this is so long, just wanted to get you all the pertinent info. If you have any technical questions just let me know. I hope this has helped you to understand that you will never get stuck with product from us. m00n
Well.... If they are registered with the BBC, I would check on the BBC web site to see if there are any complaints. Look at all the links he listed. See how many goods vs how many bads. Remember this too, stores are/can be just as shifty as a web site is. The store where I purchased my R7's told me that I HAD to buy some $300.00 worth of cables. That these speakers needed them and they would sould crappy without. Crock-O-Crap from a lying basturd There is the convieniance factor to take into consideration also. I was able to take back my R3 series of speakers and trade them up to my R7s. Can you do that at this site? WHAT IS THERE RETURN POLICY? You must find that out. If you have to send a speaker in for repairs, who pays the shipping? Shipping can get spendy. However, your saving a lot of greenbacks on the initial price. These guys have some bitchen prices. No doubt about that. I can tell you, I put that link in my favorites. One more thing to think about... Click on their related links. If they had something to hide, would they be exposing themselves wide open like that? I wouldn't think so. But who knows. I would at very least check with BBC. kenratboy
Thanks!!! That is basically the same conclusion I reached. I would have a phone chat before I bought. Hey, if you buy from them, and they scam you, you could stop by my place on the way down, we could get better armed and go together!!! I mean, if you HAGGELED TO THE MOON (no relation to your name), I bet you could get Good Guys down in that range before tax. Paying full retail for Klipsch at Good Guys is like paying MSRP for a car that is in low demand! ------------------ Receiver: Sony STR-DE675 CD player: Sony CDP-CX300 Turntable: Technics SL-J3 with Audio-Technica TR485U Speakers: JBL HLS-610 Subwoofer: JBL 4648A-8 Sub amp: Parts Express 180 watt Center/surrounds: Teac 3-way bookshelfs Yes, it sucks, but better to come. justin_tx_16
if i bought my rf-7 system from them, if i don't get news about the 'new' reference, i would save ~$4948.50! that is a ton of money. would be like $7550 at Tweeter, $2,629 there. Wow. when i calculated this, i did real figures, these are rounded. if they broke, buy a new set from them, worse comes to worse. that is crazy cheap! what do I do?!!?!??! ------------------ -justin SoundWise promediatech@Klipsch.com /1-888-554-5665 - RA# 800-554-7724 ext 5 s>
kenratboy
Buy from them, DAAAA! For repairs, you COULD always send them back to Klipsch (only a ~5 hour drive from Houston) and just pay it. Actually, if a woofer, treeter, or X-over broke, get a new one from Klipsch. Sure beats shipping a RF-7!!! If the cabinet broke in shipping, its insured, so thats easy. Hey, they could have the "New Reference" at the same rediculously low prices... ------------------ Receiver: Sony STR-DE675 CD player: Sony CDP-CX300 Turntable: Technics SL-J3 with Audio-Technica TR485U Speakers: JBL HLS-610 Subwoofer: JBL 4648A-8 Sub amp: Parts Express 180 watt Center/surrounds: Teac 3-way bookshelfs Yes, it sucks, but better to come. kenratboy
BobG, Are you playing games with a person who could potentially buy a full 7-series speaker system over the course of the next few years. As with Justin, do you? If you don't thats good for me, as the place is still liable for the products I send them to fix. VAC replaces products they cannot fox, ha! The bu(($hit can wait for another post, I am trying to get my feet in the door without getting ripped. Anyway, this speaker came out of the same warehouse as the ones going to Good Guys, didn't it? ------------------ Receiver: Sony STR-DE675 CD player: Sony CDP-CX300 Turntable: Technics SL-J3 with Audio-Technica TR485U Speakers: JBL HLS-610 Subwoofer: JBL 4648A-8 Sub amp: Parts Express 180 watt Center/surrounds: Teac 3-way bookshelfs Yes, it sucks, but better to come.
