The History Kid
Does anyone know if these are just the result of vinyl peeling? I know some MDF has a glossy appearance, but I also know it's really grainy, and usually doesn't shine well. Can anyone tell from these pictures if this is just the result of removing the vinyl or a restain? http://quadcities.craigslist.org/ele/4973025260.html
fuzzydog
Looks just like mine after I peeled off the vinyl. The glue that they used is somewhat shiny and the surface is smooth.
fuzzydog
https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/154546-rs-35-repair/ Link to my vinyl peeling pics above. In comparing the images, the surface looks a bit shinier in the craigslist pic than mine did, but it could be just the light.
The History Kid
I might follow that thread around and buy these then - do some revinyl or refinish. How difficult was it to do?
teaman
What a terrible design flaw with these speakers....
The History Kid
Yeah, certainly is a character flaw. If the refinish would be worth it, I'd get them. Edited April 11, 2015 by IbizaFlame
teaman
I may do the refinish myself on my pair of RS-3 II's. Not sure if it is worth it though as it is just a tiny area on mine....and I am not using them right now anyways!
