slacker
Garage sale find: Grommes E-24 inegrated amp. Tube complement 4x 6EU7, 4x EL84. Any info? Any guesses as to power? It does have a two phono inputs (magnetic and crystal), but the phono is not very loud. Other features: mono mode, ultra linear mode, bass, volume, balance and treble. Sounds great with CD's, a little thin on the bass side. Ok with LP's, just need to crank the volume. Any info would help, as web searches have proved fruitless. Contacted the company (they still exist!) but got nothing in return.
lynnm
Tough to track down but my best guess would be about 25 w/channel as everything I could find seems to indicate that a single EL84 puts out about 12 w/ch per tube in what I assume is class AB1,(ultralinear) mode. If wired for Class A it likely puts out something in the area of 5-10w/channel. Contact mdeneen and he/she will likely be able to give a better estimate. ------------------ It is meet to recall that the Great Green Heron rarely flies upside down in the moonlight - (Foo Ling ca.1900)
NOSValves
I believe the 6EU7 was suppose to be a Ultra quite 12AX7 with a different Pin Out. I have a Heathkit AA-151 that uses 2 of them. Most 6BQ5s are around 14 or 15 watts in PP config.
mike stehr
I think the 6EU7 is a 6volt version of the 12AX7. It's more quiet and made for HI-FI, from what I understand. I just bought a Mullard 6EU7.

Not being able to find a schematic will, no doubt, cause problems. Perhaps I will contact the Grommes company once again.
mike stehr
I'm having the same trouble finding a schematic for a RCA Victor SE6BQ5 amp, model # 3YF226. Good Luck!
