Check the avatar. JJK I fixed it for you. "Art" is created by the artist, not the critic. The reason this isn't understood by non-artists is that non-artists (and even a lot of artists) believe that "art" and "beauty" are synonymous, or at least mutually inclusive. Art is an expression, and expressions are capable of the full range of human experience, emotion and aesthetic value.
