absolve2525
I can't quite make it out from the photos. Thanks for any suggestions! It says it's 17.5 inches tall.
jjptkd
Looks like an old SW sub, possibly the SWV with the 8" woofer and front port?
absolve2525
Thanks, how do they sound? What do they go for?
CECAA850
Good as a computer sub, that's about it. Old Klipsch subs have time bombs for amps. Proceed at your own risk. I guess that's not totally fair. Caps can go on any older piece of audio electronics. The newer stuff seems to have a decent fail rate (anecdotally). jjptkd
They're not bad sounding and have their place. My cousin Brian actually uses one of these with a pair of KG 2's and they sound surprisingly good together. You won't get room shaking bass for movies or rock concert levels out of the thing but if you're just looking for a little low end fill to go along with some small speakers its ok. As far as price, I don't think I'd actually buy one unless it was really, really cheap ($20-$50?) and even then I'm not so sure. For one, its old, about 20+ years old and its not worth fixing when it breaks. And, even at the $50-$100 mark there's a lot of different options out there when it comes to older, used subs like Velodyne and M&K that should have no problem besting the SWV. The only reason my cousin has one is because I landed one as part of a full KG theater package and I just gave it to him. Needless to say he is very happy with it for the price and it really does sound pretty good in his system and helped his KG 2's. Hope this helps!
