J River Media Center

I'm taking advantage of a 30 day period where I can access a media player on my PC for free. Its called a Media Player but I'm just interested in test driving the Audio Component capabilities at the present time.

In addition to allowing me to play DSD and DXD audio files through my DAC I'm pretty impressed with the ability to use this software's controls in place of a pre-amp including bass management, etc.

There are a number of reviews of this software including this 2012 on-line review here: http://thedigitallifestyle.com/w/index.php/2012/07/24/mini-review-j-river-media-center-also-how-to-use-it-as-an-audio-output-for-windows-media-center-and-others/

I have no affiliation.

I have had problems with Jriver - Annoying issues with ripping and burning. I'll have to find another solution for those two functions. But I'll keep using it, for sure.

For playback and playlists and display - it's great :P , no problems there at all. And it's incredibly versatile (like the pre-amp settings you mentioned). A little pricey if you want to upgrade each year (I'm in my 5th year with it) compared to some other offerings.

I use Media Monkey and/or Exact Audio Copy for ripping and burning. Both were Free.  :emotion-22:  :emotion-29:  :emotion-22:  :emotion-29:  :emotion-29:  :emotion-22:
