YK Thom
I have noticed that I get a loud pop sound ( a single pop),from my center channel when I turn my system on. Any thoughts on what may be causing this? None of the other speakers do this and it doesn't happen when I shut it down. This is a pretty recent thing. CECAA850
Receiver or amp and pre-pro?
YK Thom
It is a Marantz SR5008 AVR (7.2 but configured as a 5.1). For television viewing I most often have the sound setting on Auto. Edited February 22, 2016 by YK Thom
CECAA850
Swap the center channel speaker wire at the with either the LF or RF speaker and see which one pops when you power it up. If it moves the problem is in the receiver.
ClintonH
I had the opposite happening, pop on my pro amps (for subs) when I shut down. I traced it back to my Cable PVR. Ended up running a grounding wire from it to my AVR and a isolator on my coaxial cable. I believe it was the isolator that fixed it for me. But it could be a lot of things just have to go through the elimination process.
YK Thom
Have notice that if I turn on the unit in stereo mode there is no pop. Once I switch to 5 channel while it is on, no pop.
