japosey Posted March 14, 2016 Share Posted March 14, 2016 Sounds like the issue is in the crossover. It could be a capacitor or an inductor. I've had to replace capicitors and on one occassion I had to replace an inductor that went bad. The parts are relatively in expensive, but the job requires a little desoldering to remove the old part and soldering to replace it with the new one. One of those 1.5 uF caps is probably open. It's easy to see if one is open with an ohmmeter. I ordered new crossovers and the titanium diaphragms to renew them. Put the crossovers in first and was really happy with the new sound I heard from them. Then I replaced the diaphragms and was really disappointed. I could not hear a difference. Was playing with a frequency sweep on You tube, when I discovered I can't hear a damn thing over 4K.
