Chorus 1 (after mods?).... Anyone?

Recommended Posts

I have a pair of chorus 1's here,

I decided against trading them for a pair of Cornwalls.

They are in stock form,

and now that keeping them may end up being the case... I figured why not ask about mods?

So, if anyone has any chorus 1 info/stories about any mods (crites or otherwise), please share.

I'm guessing that the crites tweets, mids, and crossover caps are in order,

But I've noticed a pair of heresy modded with M&K woofers when I was looking at pictures of modded klipsch speakers online,

And that got me thinking...

What other mods are out there as far as using other woofers, or any other stuff like that?

Glad to hear this! Some people add port tubes to extend the bass frequency. Crites titanium tweeters are a nice upgrade. The crossovers should be at minimum re-capped but if you have the cash might as well buy the complete new ones. I would most certainly not replace that 15" woofer with anything else, those k-48's are monsters and will really get with it if pumped up with enough juice.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I had in mind.

All but the port tubes, I don't really feel a "lack" of bass, but maybe extending a bit lower might be something I didn't know I was missing?

I'm going to do the crites upgrades for sure.

But the full crossover might be a little to expensive for me right now, but maybe in time... (These upgrades will have to be done step by step, one at a time, as budget permits).
