KevinG
I just bought a pair of RF-82's. When I got them hooked up I notice right away that one of the tweeters wasn't working. After taking the entire speaker apart and doing a few tests I figured out the crossover has a bad spot in it. The power for the tweeter is going in but not coming out. I guess my question would be if the RF-82 crossover is compatible with the RF-82 II? I am having difficulties finding a crossover for a RF-82. Any help would be greatly appreciated! pzannucci
So we are to assume you swapped the tweeter between the two speakers you have and are sure it is not the tweeter. Is that correct?
dtr20
If it is in fact the crossover, you can contact Bob Crites to see if he could repair it. From what I understand, he doesn't typically do reference speakers, but he has done one set of crossovers.
KevinG
Yes the tweeter seems fine. If I connect power directly to the tweeter it works fine. If I connect it before the crossover it works. But if I connect it directly after the crossover I get nothing.
pzannucci
Call Klipsch or contact someone like Bob if you are not handy with a soldering iron. There should only be a couple of components that can go bad on the crossover for the high end. Cap or resistor are likely and if you can get them off, they are easy to test. If it is anything else on the crossover, I'd be very surprised.

pzannucci
KevinG, are you good with a soldering iron? You would need to verify the four components on the tweeter side and their connections. Marked in red.
