jwadd21
I got bored and decided to create a diagram of my HT. boa12
j, looks great. but get rid of the desk & bed, & spread out those fronts to the max. you can sleep on the couch. & put the svs on the closet corner. just my 1st take. ------------------ My Home Systems Page
jwadd21
Well I have a roomate, so the bed is kind of a must. The closet corner for SVS? that would take all the bass into the closet instead of the room! baaaad idea there. The corner ther are in is the best possible, trust me. ------------------ MY SYSTEM Mains: Klipsch RF-3II Center: Klipsch RF-3II Rear L/R: Polk R40 bookshelves(suck)...soon to be Klipsch RS-3II Subwoofers: Dual SVS 25-31CS Subwoofer Amp: Fidek 3002 600w Receiver: Harmon Kardon AVR520 CD Player: Cambridge D500SE DVD Player: JVC XV-D723 Progressive Scan TV: Toshiba 32A42 32"
boa12
j, ya just kidding. well sorta. actually if you cut those svs down at 40-50hz where they should be cut, then it wouldn't make any dif if you put 'em in the closet. no biggy though. ------------------ My Home Systems Page
Kain
Looking good! By the way, that is the first time I have seen Klipsch RF-3 IIs on stands. ------------------ Coming soon... prodj101
by the way, why do you have RF-3's on stands? ------------------ New music system: 2.1 using SF-2's (soon to be RF-7's), and an RSW-15. for amplification Mcintosh MC02105, B&K PT-3 preamp, Sony SACD player. pioneer turntable. Computer uses Promedia 2.1's.
boa12
prod, to get the upper drivers physically in line w/ the screen, i reckon. makes sense. j, really, i would tyr the svs in the closet corner. could turn the closet into a giant bass horn. just a whim, but don't know til you try. some guys have used basements, attics & empty indoor pools as subs. may cut out some of the upper freq bass & lfe, but could be a good thing. just a thought. ------------------ My Home Systems Page
justin_tx_16
Looks really nice! What program did you use to make that diagram? It is really great looking. Even the little components look great. Nice job! ------------------ -justin SoundWise promediatech@Klipsch.com /1-888-554-5665 - RA# 800-554-7724 ext 5s> Email Me
boa12
j, also after talking w/ m00n, i found your hk 520 has an adjustable crossover down to 60hz. so that'll probably work best since your rf-3 put out well down to at least 40hz. & then your svs don't go up so high in frequency as w/ a standard 80hz fixed crossover. anyway, great set-up! ------------------ My Home Systems Page
jwadd21
yes, my rf-3s do go town to 40 hzs, but i want the SVS's to do the work as high as they can because they would be wasted otherwise, and not worked to their full potential. the strength of the svs's at even 100hz is far more than the rf-3's, so i will probably keep the xover at about 80hz, perhaps even 100, who knows, whatever sounds best. I have them on stands so the would be closer to the same level of the center. ------------------ MY SYSTEM Mains: Klipsch RF-3II Center: Klipsch RF-3II Rear L/R: Polk R40 bookshelves(suck)...soon to be Klipsch RS-3II Subwoofers: Dual SVS 25-31CS Subwoofer Amp: Fidek 3002 600w Receiver: Harmon Kardon AVR520 CD Player: Cambridge D500SE DVD Player: JVC XV-D723 Progressive Scan TV: Toshiba 32A42 32"
jwadd21
Well, my new roomate brought turntables that only fit where my theater system is now. I came up with this new layout. What do you think? the bed is a mattress on the floor. the grey boxes are mostly dressers. ------------------ MY SYSTEM Mains: Klipsch RF-3II Center: Klipsch RF-3II Rear L/R: Polk R40 bookshelves(suck)...soon to be Klipsch RS-3II Subwoofers: Dual SVS 25-31CS Subwoofer Amp: Fidek 3002 600w Receiver: Harmon Kardon AVR520 CD Player: Cambridge D500SE DVD Player: JVC XV-D723 Progressive Scan TV: Toshiba 32A42 32" This message has been edited by jwadd21 on 09-23-2002 at 04:10 AM

boa12
j, take it you put the couch between the side surrounds, a lil forward of those maybe? that should work ok if there's room. the mattress may block some of the sound from the front though. ------------------ My Home Systems Page
jwadd21
Very funny guys.... I forgot to put the couch in which will go in between the surrounds. We have the room. The mattress is only like 1' thick and wont be anywhere new the drivers on the rf-3's*(it wont even get close, they are on stands) ------------------ MY SYSTEM Mains: Klipsch RF-3II Center: Klipsch RF-3II Rear L/R: Polk R40 bookshelves(suck)...soon to be Klipsch RS-3II Subwoofers: Dual SVS 25-31CS Subwoofer Amp: Fidek 3002 600w Receiver: Harmon Kardon AVR520 CD Player: Cambridge D500SE DVD Player: JVC XV-D723 Progressive Scan TV: Toshiba 32A42 32"
