marksdad
my dvd player will sometimes at the end of a chapter freez for a split second and than move on to the next chapter, so i do not get smooth transition through the movie, the disc's are new, or cleaned, anyone else experience this problem? my player is listed at bottom
sseymour
If this happens one time at some point in the middle of a movie it could be the player switching between layers on the DVD. Not all DVDs are dual layerso this wouldn't happen on all DVDs and it would not happen more than once per movie. Hope this helps. -Scott
Audio Flynn
Not saying this is normal but it does happen from time to time on the Panasonic RP91 I have.
boa12
it is the player switching layers i'm sure. all players do it for dual layer dvd, but if it hangs for more than a few secs may be a problem. note the makers usually put the layer change in a transitional place in movie. but its in the material & unavoidable. Mighty Favog
This happens on one movie I have. On Peter Frampton's Detroit concert it freezes right when Peter is asking the crowd what they should play. It is the one disc it happens on but then again, I only have about 40 movies so far. I'm using a McIntosh MVP-841.
boa12
tom, does it freeze just for a few seconds or stop or malfunction there?
prodj101
Even my sony does this ($1000 dollar player here), one of the reasons I got it was to get rid of it, and it did slightly, but it's still there. Actually, one movie froze completely at one point, and it fixed that lol. But yeah, look on the back of some of your DVD's and it says "some minor skips are normal do to layer transitions." Mighty Favog
Boa- It just freezes for a second or two but then it continues playing as if nothing was ever wrong. It does catch me off guard every time I play it.
