I need to upgrade my surround back ..

would be best ? klipsch Rp-600m or klipsch Rp-402S..

in one system 7.2.4

If you already own any of these, better to keep what you have. Money better spent on upgrading the front left, right and center channel speakers.


If not....of these 2 speakers, RP-600M are better....unless you need wide dispersion. If you need that or not will depend on your room, seating, and speaker placement. Most cases use wide dispersion for side surround, not surround back. Also consider that wide dispersion in an otherwise acoustically untreated room may have significant disadvantages. Again, your specific situation is unknown, and therefore may vary (greatly).

Emotiva BasX A-700 (7 channels used, 2 pair Dolby Atmos front and back L-C-R)

living Room size 13 x 31 (403 sq feet complete) (used front TV is 13 x 12 sq feet tree panel acoustic room back)

technically direct radiating / monopole speakers like the 600m's are more correct for rears.  Some people, especially ones that are sitting very close to the speakers, opt for the dispersed style like 402S or 502S in the rear and it works fine for the most part.  Sometimes it's better than having a horn fire into your ear from a foot or two away.  I will say that most people will use the 500M just to save space though, those are more popular than 600M's for surrounds but if space isn't an issue then by all means get the 600M.
