BigStewMan
My credit union called me to verify some charges. About $550 worth of stuff at a store in Compton, CA, and $150 to purchase phone credit for an inmate at the local jail. Neither were my charges. My credit union, issued me a new card and refunded all the money within 24 hours ... i also had to sign an affidavit that the charges weren’t mine. credit union made the ordeal relatively painless ... except for the lingering fear that it could happen again. I’m pretty much a creature of habit and i had recently used my card at a new gas station ... not sure if that’s where it happened; but, i no longer use my debit card at gas stations -- cash generally, credit card at times. Dave1290
PayPal is awfully sketchy for me. On two different occasions I used it and somehow it hit my account twice each time. Guy I know had it happen and it cost him $150 twice. He said he was told they couldn't do anything about it. Imagine that.
