DizRotus Posted January 30, 2020 Share Posted January 30, 2020 In the above photo the inner pair are DIY cabinets from 3/4 Baltic birch with Eminence Delta Pro woofers KP-201 mids and tweets. The photo below shows the components on the unfinished cabinet. The tweeters have Crites titanium diaphragms. The rear ports and networks, including Crites 3636 autoformers, follow Claude’s recipe. The Duratex finish, handles and metal grilles make them suitable for a moving party. The outer pair in the top photo are HIPs. The bottom photo shows the HIP’s components before the networks were refreshed. The tweeters are Crites 120s, the woofers are recently re-coned EV cast frame originals. The K-55s are spring loaded. The networks are refreshed to the “Super” recipe. They too have Crites 3636 autoformers. I’m letting the wife decide which pair she likes the sound of better. The losers will go. If I keep the HIPs, I’ll make them more attractive. If I sell them, I can sell them as they are for $400. If I sell the DIYs, I’d ask $400 for them also. Please pardon the mess. You can also see the silver titanium diaphragm. The bottom photo shows one of the HIPs before they got woofer re-cones. The top photo in the first post shows the re-coned woofers.
