wetowne
I just picked up a nice pair of Heresy III Matte Black Special Editions. I was curious about the date of manufacture. I can't find any info on late model serial numbers anywhere. I can't make any sense of this one at all. 106748518510193 Anyone here know? Does anyone at least know when the Matte Black SE was introduced. Thanks.
glens
The last two numbers of the year are in there somewhere. The possibilities are 67, 74, 48, 85, 51, 18, 85, 51, ...

glens
I'd underlined my guess. '85 seems more like "II" territory to me. Can't post a pointer, but I know I've seen the SN decoder on this site.
wetowne
2018 would make sense. They're brand new in the box. I think the Matte Black Special Editions just came out in the last few years, just not sure exactly when. These are the ones. https://www.klipsch.com/products/heresy-iii-floorstanding-speaker-blackmatte
glens
The model # is 1067485, so after that, I think, comes two digits for the year, then two for the week in that year, then the sequential number which is most unique. Just a guess...
wetowne
May 10 2018, the 193rd speaker of the series, that sounds good to me. No way to really verify it but I'm going with it. Thanks for your help.
wetowne
Or near the end of December with 0193 as the unique number.
