flappycars
Hello, I have been offered a pair of Khorns for £1500 GBP. They are oiled walnut and in good condition. They are 1985 vintage. Only problem is I have a listening room only 12 X 17 feet and my chorus are a bit in yoiur face as it is. I have also been offered a pair of KG 3.5 which are 400 GBP. I am told they will work well in a small room. Which way should I jump: Bigger, smaller or stay the same? I have not heard Khorns or KG 3.5 and I weont live in this house for ever, what is the smallest size room to make the Khorns sound sensible? Any advice on this greatly appreciated, John
IndyKlipschFan
If it against the 17' long wall you will be fine. Especially if against the other 17' line wall you have a couch facing the two big K horns in the corners. It actually is a perfect sweetspot for you, and is incredible. tigerwoodKhorns
I am using a pair of K-horns in a 14' wide room (also 29 feet deep and 2 stories high) II sit about 10' max from the speakers and they sound great. The imaging is awsome. I have accoustic (unplugged) recordings where you would swear that all of the sound is coming from exactly between the 2 speakers and nothing from corners. It is increadible. If you can fit them in your room, buy the K-horns, you will not be disappointed. Chris
sunnysal
hard to compare your two alternatives...too darn different...the k-horns will be undoubtably better sounding speaks...you need to decide if you can stand the visual impact of k-horns in that space, if they are using the long wall (17') you should be fine, and happy with the great k-horn sound! best of luck, tony
