The Fives Bookshelf Speakers - Can I lay them on their side?

Hello,

 

I am using these speakers as my desktop speakers and the way my monitors are situated it doesn't really work to have them situated upright. Ignore the fact my monitor situation currently looks crappy, I ordered two of the monitor you see on the right side (and only got one so far) so the left side monitor will be replaced with the same as the right side. Once theyre both in, I ideally would like them situated on the end of the desk, laid horizontally, under the monitor. Is there a certain way they should face for the correct sound?

I don't see why that can't work, you are sitting near field. Perhaps try adding a slight toe in to the outside edges aiming them slightly towards you a few degrees.

You can't fit one on either side of the monitors? I dunno if it has an effect but having them on their side would leave me wondering if they were performing their best.

I have this set up as well. I'm using three 32 inch monitors and I have the 5's below those. I have them on their side with the tweeters on the inside (the opposite of what you have). I also purchased little foam half circle sticky things from Amazon to attach to the bottom to stop resonances from going through the desk. It works quite well.

They will work fine.  Try tweets in or out and see which you like best.  What bothered me is the damn cork pads.  Seriously!  Save a dollar on feet?  Anyway, I painted them black.  Lol
