Fido Posted January 17, 2023 Share Posted January 17, 2023 Alvin at vineshine audio in Singapore just loaded a utube about changing out the switching power supply of a Bluesound Node 2i to an external linear power supply. I ordered the kit he featured and it arrived yesterday and I installed it and am blown away. My Node 2is sound improvement is not subtle. Bass response is greatly improved and mids are clearer, soundstage is wider and better defined and high frequencies are brighter without being edgy. Vocals are better than I have ever heard from the Node. For less than $300 and about 15 minutes of time replacing out the internal power supply my streaming setup is fabulous. the combo of the Node 2i, external power supply and the Denefrips Pontus, evo 400 and Forte IVs is intoxicating. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It would be interesting to do just that - while keeping it safe. I remember that iFi Phono Zen can be bought with an upgraded, external power supply, which results in better sound quality.
