kenratboy
OK, with my Sony receiver, I am getting a very faint Mexican radio station in the background!!! It is bad enough to HEAR DURING PLAYBACK!!! Any ideas? I think it might be the cable between my computer and receiver. Thanks!
michael hurd
Lol ! You simply remove the screws holding the top cover on and let that poor mexican announcer out. He probably had a bumpy ride inside before you picked it up lol. Seriously, I recall that a member had a problem with receiving a radio station via the built in sub amp in his rp5. You could do a search on this in the forum. Let us know what it is. Btw, is it there with all the different sources ? You could try a shorting plug on the input rca's and turn that source volume up to see if it's still there. If it is, then the circuitry in the receiver is picking it up, if no then it may be coming from your cable.
sunnysal
how close to mexico do you live???? or do you mean a spanish language music station? tony
kenratboy
It's a Reno Spanish-speaking radio station. I will have to play with it, or wrap my receiver in tin foil.
fini
Did you get any new fillings? Maybe you should wrap the radio station in foil. Wouldn't your receiver look "tacky?" fini
sunnysal
start with the shorting plug on the RCAs and see what that gets you...horrible to know all that RF is flying around...tony
WMcD
The first thing I'd do was determine how the RF is getting into the receiver. So first thing, do remove all the input leads, leaving the speakers connected. If the signal is still there, it is pretty much a sure bet it is getting in through the speaker leads. Of not, try reconnecting the input leads one by one it isolate the source of the problem. Of course do power down the rig while pulling the plugs out to avoid the buzz/hum. It is my guess that it is the speaker leads. One solution might be the use of sheilded wire. My other suggestion is a 0.01 uF disk cap from RS wired across the speaker output of the amp. Let us know. Audio Flynn
at www.virmode.com you can get a papaer on EMI and RFI sent to you for $ 15.00. It was worth it and the sell some pretty cool products to help these types of conditions. One of their points is all things in a CD player throw EMI all over the place. A potentially large contributor to the perceptiojn of some hating CD sound.
