Mr. Lou
Anyone have recommendations on how to clean up the stains on these?
Marvel
I take it that these have no finish on them ..
Ceptorman
Sand and stain....
Dave MacKay
Hard to tell from the photo, but, if the stain is persistent after a light sanding, you could try bleaching it with a solution of oxalic acid and water.
Marvel
Barkeepers Friend contains oxalic acid, and can be used to bleach wood stains.

Mr. Lou
Does not appear to have finish on them. what grit sand paper would you start with and can I use a random orbital on these? Do not use a powered sander! You’ll sand through the thin veneer in an instant. Sand by hand using a sanding block. Because the veneer (outside ply) of the plywood is thin, don’t use coarse sandpaper. If it were me, I’d likely use 150 grit sandpaper. Buy the good stuff, not cheap sandpaper. Mr. Lou
Thanks for that, makes total sense. Yeah I figured maybe 220.
Dale Stevens
Lou, I would try 0000 steel wool. Just go very lightly. And if sandpaper then I'd go higher than 220. You can always go back lower. Dale
Mr. Lou
Thanks for all the help. I haven’t sanded yet but did a once over with the Murphy’s oil soap and that cleared up/lessened a lot of the stains! It did make the grain pop a bit as others said. I have some fine steel wool and will try that.
